WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Zach Jancarski hit two solo home runs, but the Maryland baseball team fell to William & Mary, 10-4, at Plumeri Park Wednesday night.

The Terrapins (2-2) took the lead on Jancarski's first solo shot in the opening inning, but did not regain the lead after the Tribe (1-4) scored a run in the home half. Junior AJ Lee reached base three times in the loss.

Jancarski took the first pitch he saw from Nick Butts over the right field fence for the first home run of his season in the first. The Tribe grabbed a run off Maryland starter Elliot Zoellner to tie the game. The home team then scored twice in the second and three times in the third inning to take a 6-1 lead.

The Terps pulled a pair of runs back in the fourth. Taylor Wright scored on a groundout by Will Watson and Kevin Biondic's double plated Lee. Maryland's final run came on Jancarski's solo blast in the seventh.

Maryland used six pitchers in the contest. Junior Hunter Parsons was the most effective, striking out one over an inning and a third of scoreless work.

The Terps return to action this weekend as they open their home slate with a series against Army. Game one is set for Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. Fans can watch the action on BTN Plus or listen on the Maryland Baseball Network.
