
#19 Terps Take on Wisconsin Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland will carry a five-game win streak into its second straight home game Monday, January 14 when the Terps host Wisconsin at the XFINITY Center. The game is slated to tip at 8:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

Despite the announced closure of the University of Maryland College Park campus due to inclement weather, Maryland's game vs. Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 14 is still expected to be played as originally scheduled. STORYLINES
• Since joining the Big Ten, the series between the two schools is tied 3-3. Maryland secured a 68-63 win the last time the two teams played at XFINITY Center, led by a game-high 23 points from Anthony Cowan Jr.
• A win against Wisconsin would give Maryland its third 6-1 start in Big Ten play in four seasons. The Terps previously got off to 8-1 (2016-17) and 6-1 (2015-16) starts in B1G games under head coach Mark Turgeon.
• Sophomore Bruno Fernando had a career-high 25 points and 13 rebounds, Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 24 and Maryland used a second-half surge to rally past No. 22 Indiana 78-75 their last time out on January 11.
• Maryland has now won consecutive home games against ranked opponents for the first time since defeating #3 Iowa (1/28) and #18 Purdue (2/6) during the 2015-16 season.
• Maryland is now 5-1 when trailing at halftime this season, including a perfect 4-0 mark when behind at the half of Big Ten games. The five wins when behind at half are the second most during Mark Turgeon's tenure at Maryland, while the four come-from-behind conference wins are the most-ever for a Terrapin team under Turgeon.
• Cowan is averaging 25.5 points, 6 assists and 5.5 rebounds the past two games in wins over Minnesota and #22 Indiana. He has now scored 20+ points in back-to-back games for the second time in his Maryland career. The Bowie, Md. native's last two-game 20+ stretch came last season against Purdue (12/1/17 – 20 points) and at Illinois (12/3/17 – 27 points).
• Cowan's 27 points vs. Minnesota tied his career-high set last season in Maryland's overtime win at Illinois (92-91, Dec. 3), and was his fourth 20+ scoring output of the season. 23 of Cowan's points came in the second half, while he finished perfect from the free throw line (10-for-10) on the night.
• Maryland shot 69.6% (16-of-23) in the second half o last Tuesday's win at Minnesota, marking the team's best field goal percentage in a half this season. It was Maryland best shooting half since going 19-of-26 (73%) in the first half at Illinois last season on December 3.
• With its wins over Rutgers (1/5) and Minnesota (1/8), Maryland captured back-to-back road victories in the Big Ten for the first time since beating Minnesota (85-78) and Ohio State (77-71) on January 28 and 31 (respectively) during the 2016-17 season.
• The Terrapins' consecutive wins over the Scarlet Knights and Golden Gophers marked the first time the program secured back-to-back conference road games by double digits since defeating Virginia (66-42) and Georgia Tech (74-63) during the 2010-11 season.
