COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â The No. 21 Maryland men's basketball team is set to return to College Park for the first time in more than two weeks as it welcomes Northwestern to XFINITY Center for a 7 pm tip on Fox Sports 1. The game marks the Terps' lone home game in a stretch of six conference games.
STORYLINES
 •  The Terrapins hold a significant 7-2 advantage in the all-time series against Northwestern, including wins in six-of-seven games as Big Ten foes. Maryland has never lost to the Wildcats at home (3-0), and swept last season's series with two wins in a nine-day span.
• Junior Anthony Cowan Jr. averaged 14.5 points in the Terps pair of wins against Northwestern last season. The Bowie, Md., native is quickly climbing Maryland's record books, currently ranking 34th in team history with 1,209 points and 14th in assists with 383.
• Sophomore Bruno Fernando notched his 12th double-double of the season, and third consecutive, with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds in the Terps' loss to Illinois at Madison Square Garden. Fernando is one of 12 players in program history to record at least 12 double-doubles in a season.
•  Bruno Fernando was named one of 15 players to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Midseason List Jan. 22. The dominating big man currently ranks second in the Big Ten Conference in double-doubles (12) and blocks/g (2.1), and third in rebounds/g (10.3). He also ranks fourth nationally (1st B1G) in FG pct. (.671).
•  Freshman Aaron Wiggins has made 10-of-19 attempts (52.6%) from beyond the arc over the last three games, including a career-best 15 points with five 3's at #6 Michigan State. Wiggins had hit just eight 3-pointers in the previous seven games combined on 8-of-20 (40%) shooting.
•  Maryland has had great success getting to the free throw line this season, ranking fourth in the Big Ten in free throw attempts (422), third in free throws made (318) and second in free throw percentage (.754). Anthony Cowan Jr. has made the third-most free throws (97) in the conference, while big man Bruno Fernando is hitting free throws at an impressive 76-percent rate.
•  The Terrapins' consecutive road wins over Rutgers, Minnesota and Ohio State marked the first time the program secured three straight conference road victories by double digits since defeating Wake Forest (74-55), Virginia (66-42) and Georgia Tech (74-63) during the 2010-11 season.
•  The Terps remain one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, ranking fifth in the country in rebound margin (+10.0).Â
•  The Terrapins boast one of the youngest lineups in the country in terms of experience, ranking 349th out of 353 teams according to KenPom.com.Â
