
Terps’ Knade Tied for Lead at VCU

RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Peter Knade of the Maryland men's golf team is tied atop the field after the first two rounds in the VCU Invitational at The Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, Va.
Knade went nine under par through the first two rounds. He shot a 67 in the first round and a 68 in the second, making two eagles and 10 birdies in the 36 holes.
As a team, the Terps finished the first two rounds with score of 562 (284-278), which is 14 under par. They are in sixth out of 12 teams competing. The Terrapins' final score after day one lands them right in the middle of the pack of the VCU Invitational, with several Terps posting solid scores.
Besides Knade, seniors Christian Park and Chris Lane both finished round one with scores of five strokes under par. Park shot a 71 in the first round and a 68 in the second. Lane shot a 72 in the first and 67 in the second. They are tied for eighth in the standings, with Lane is competing as an individual.
Austin Barbin, Dhaivat Pandya, and Will Celiberti are the remaining Terrapins competing in Maryland's first tournament of the year. Pandya finished with a score of one over par with a score of 145 (77-68). Celiberti is +2 with a score of 146 (72-74), and Barbin is currently four over with his score of 148 (74-74). This is the first collegiate tournament for Barbin and Celiberti and first as a Terrapin for Pandya.
The Terrapins and the 11 other competing teams will finish the remaining 18 holes tomorrow. They will tee off at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
