COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The #24 Maryland gymnastics team recorded a 195.750-194.000 victory over Big Ten foe Rutgers on Sunday afternoon as part of "Beauty and the Beast" in Xfinity Center. Freshman Reese McClure posted career-highs on floor (9.900) and on beam (9.850) while Senior Tiara Wright also had a personal best with a 9.925 on floor. 

"I am really proud of this team in the resilience they showed today," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "We came off a tough loss last week and we were able to prove ourselves in front of our home crowd. The atmosphere today with the Beauty and the Beast meet was unbelievable."

Three Maryland gymnasts earned career-best scores, Wright, McClure and LeBlanc. In only her second collegiate meet, LeBlanc posted career-highs on both her events, vault (9.575) and beam (9.700).

The Terps earned team scores of 48.925 (vault), 48.825 (bars), 48.850 (beam), 49.150 floor and an overall 195.750, the third highest score of the season. 

On vault the Terps were led by sophomore Alexsis Rubio (9.850) and freshmen Emma Silberman (9.800) and McClure (9.800). 

In the bars rotation senior Alecia Farina led the way earning her season-best 9.850, followed by Wright and freshman Aleka Tsiknias who notched 9.825s of their own. 

Reese McClure led the way for the Terrapins on beam with her career 9.850. 

Maryland ended the day with a strong showing on floor led by anchor Tiara Wright who dazzled the crowd with her 9.925 performance. McClure added a 9.900 of her own, followed by Rouse's 9.850.

The GymTerps return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Big Five Elevate the Stage Meet in Toledo, Ohio, with Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota at 7 p.m. The next home event for Maryland will be on March 1 as Temple, William & Mary and Yale come to Xfinity Center for a 1 p.m. meet.
