COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland-Syracuse women's lacrosse game, originally slated for Friday, February 28 in Syracuse, has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 29 at noon at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, due to weather conditions in Upstate New York.
"Safety of our student-athletes is of the utmost importance at the University of Maryland," said Athletic Director Damon Evans. "Due to the forecasted winter weather conditions in Upstate New York, our University Department of Transportation determined it was unsafe to travel."
Admission will be free to all fans for Saturday's contest between the No. 9 Terps and No. 4 Orange.
Parking in lot 11B is available until 4 p.m. All cars must vacate the lot by that time unless a men's basketball game day permit is displayed. Any cars in lot 11B after 4 p.m. without a men's basketball permit will be ticketed and subjected to be towed.
Maryland is 23-1 all-time against Syracuse. Last year, the Terps defeated the Orange in an overtime classic in College Park. Kali Hartshorn netted the game winner off an assist from Hannah Warther on a free position attempt to defeat Syracuse 12-11.
