Terps Split Day One of Panther Invitational, 1-1

MIAMI, Fla. -- Sophomore Regan Kerr hit .364 on the day, including a 3-for-4 day at the plate in a 3-0 win over Ball State to open the Panther Invitational. Maryland went 1-1 on day one.

Terps defeated Ball State, 3-0:
  • Maryland outhit Ball State 7-4.
  • Sophomore Regan Kerr went 3-for-4 at the plate, tying a career-high with three hits.
  • Freshman Taylor Liguori got the Terps going when she singled to center field, bringing Kerr in for the first run of the game in the first inning.
  • Senior Amanda Brashear reached first base on an error but recorded an RBI as Liguori added another run to the board. 
  • Junior Sammie Stefan scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the third on a throwing error made by the Cardinal's catcher.
  • Brashear stole her first base of the season.
  • Freshman Trinity Schlotterbeck collected her fourth win on the season inside the circle.
Maryland falls to Tulsa 4-0:
  • The Terps outhit the Hurricanes, 7-6.
  • Sophomore Taylor Okada went 3-for-4 at the plate.
  • Senior Anna Kufta went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Numbers To Know:

3: Kerr and Okada both notched three hits apiece.
14: Terps outhit opponents, 14-10.
