Wiggins Drops 21, Terps Top Nebraska

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Aaron Wiggins scored 21 points, 15 of which came in the second half, as Maryland (12-10, 6-9) used a late run to finish off Nebraska 64-50 Tuesday night.

The Terrapins ended the game on an 11-3 run to close out the Cornhuskers (5-13, 1-10), sparked by a late surge from Wiggins who had nine in the game's final 5:30.

After a three from Nebraska tied the game with 8:12 to play, Wiggins put the Terps back in control with a personal 5-0 run. The Greensboro, N.C. native was also a monster on the glass, collecting 11 rebounds on the night to tie his season high.

Jairus Hamilton turned in one of his best games as a Terp, finishing with 15 to tie his season-high. Eric Ayala also finished in double figures with 14 points, while Donta Scott added nine.

After a back and forth first half, Maryland retook the lead late on a pair of Ayala free throws and a buzzer-beating three from Darryl Morsell.

Maryland and Nebraska will be right back at it tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. to complete a team-game series. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.
