Terps Edged at Minnesota, 1-0

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – McKenna Buismna scored the game's only goal in the third minute as the Golden Gophers held off Maryland 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Maryland managed seven shots with four on goal, but could not find the back of the net. Goalkeepers Krista Varrichione and Kennedy Tolson combined to make eight saves in the cage for UMD.

Playing its second straight game with several starters out, head coach Ray Leone played his ninth different backline combination this season.

"The fight of this team is remarkable," said Leone. "We started our ninth different backline today, and they are giving everything humanly possible. I'm incredibly proud of this group for continuing to battle each game despite the circumstances. We'll spend the next couple of weeks focusing on improving as we get ready for the Big Ten Wildcard Weekend."

Maryland will play its final game of the regular season this Saturday, April 3 when the Terps travel to Penn State for a noon game.
