Donnelly Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior Riley Donnelly of the Maryland field hockey team was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Monday for her first career weekly honor.
Donnelly, a junior out of Doylestown, Pa., leads the Terrapins (2-2) with two goals and three assists on the year, having a hand in five of the Terps' six goals scored in the first four games.
In the two games in Virginia Beach this weekend, Donnelly continued to lead Maryland's offensive opportunities, notching a goal and an assist for three points. She buried a penalty stroke in the final minute vs. Ohio State to seal the Terps' 2-0 win in conference play. Against Northwestern Sunday, she fed Bibi Donraadt for the equalizing goal in the 35th minute.
Next, Maryland will take on Penn State (1-1) for two games next weekend in State College. The Terps and the Nittany Lions will play Friday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Links to watch and to follow live stats will be posted on umterps.com.
