BALTIMORE, Md. -- Logan Wisnauskas scored with 18 seconds left in regulation to lift #1 Maryland to a 14-13 comeback win at Homewood on Saturday afternoon.
Maryland scored three goals in the final 1:48 to rally from a 13-11 deficit to finish the comeback. With the win, Maryland completes its first undefeated regular-season since 1987, going 10-0 heading into the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed.
Wisnauskas and Jared Bernhardt rallied the Terps scoring all three of those goals in the final minutes and each player finished with four goals in the win. Wisnauksas took a feed from Kyle Long and scored an amazing goal while falling to the ground with 1:48 left in the fourth to bring Maryland within one at 13-12.
Then, Bernhardt ripped his fourth of the day - and first since the first quarter - to tie the game just 12 seconds later at 1:36. That set the stage for Bernhardt to set up Wisnauksas for the game-winner.
The Terps had jumped out to a 9-4 lead late in the second quarter on an Anthony DeMaio goal with 3:45 left in the half. But Hopkins rallied for the next five goals, bridging halftime to tie the game at 9-9 with 8:29 left in the third.
The teams traded goals as Jonathan Peshko's goal 1:27 in the fourth quarter tied the game at 11-11. Connor DeSimone (3 goals) and Peshko scored the next two to put Hopkins ahead 13-11 with just over five minutes left in the game.
Bubba Fairman and Griffin Brown each scored twice for Maryland and Daniel Maltz added the Terps' other tally.
On defense, Logan McNaney made 10 saves. Hopkins' Tim Marcille, making his first career-start made 11 saves.
The Terps will play in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinal on Thursday, May 6.
