COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The top-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team (10-0) will be back in action this Thursday, May 6 when the Terps meet Michigan in the Semifinals of the 2021 Big Ten Tournament hosted at Penn State.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The top-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team (10-0) will be back in action this Thursday, May 6 when the Terps meet Michigan in the Semifinals of the 2021 Big Ten Tournament hosted at Penn State.
Head coach John Tillman led UMD to its first undefeated regular season since 1987, defeating every Big Ten team twice in 2021.
Maryland used a 16-goal run to top Michigan 18-12 when the teams last met on April 10, and beat the Wolverines 20-9 in both teams' season opener on February 20.
MICHIGAN STORYLINES
HISTORIC OFFENSE
- Maryland is currently on pace for one of its most prolific offensive seasons ever, averaging 16.6 goals per game through nine games. As it stands, it's just the sixth time in program history the Terps have averaged 16 gpg or higher, and the highest scoring average for UMD since averaging 16.73 gpg back in 1977.
BIG TEN TOURNEY HISTORY
- Maryland is 5-3 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament, which includes back-to-back tournament championships in 2016 and 2017. Thursday marks the first-ever Big Ten Tournament meeting between Maryland and Michigan. Maryland is 3-2 in B1G Semifinal games.
SEVEN TERPS LAND ON ALL-BIG TEN TEAM
- Jared Bernhardt was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year while Nick Grill was named the Defensive Player of the Year as the duo headlined Maryland's seven-player All-Big Ten selections announced by the conference this week.
- The seven All-B1G selections ties the most-ever in a single season for Maryland (2016) while the four first team honorees also ties a yearly program high (2015).
- Bernhardt and Grill were joined by attackman Logan Wisnauskas and defenseman Brett Makar on the first team. Short stick defensive midfielder Roman Puglise, midfielder Kyle Long and goalie Logan McNaney were second team selections.
- The seven selections brings Maryland's all-time total to 34 since the inception of Big Ten lacrosse.
GOOD THINGS COME IN 10'S
- Maryland has reached 10 wins for a NCAA-leading 18 consecutive 10-win+ seasons, including 11 under head coach John Tillman. Tillman led Maryland to 10 wins in just 10 regular season games.
- Maryland has put together 10 different runs of six or more goals this season, and at least one 6+ goal run in nine of 10 games. The Terps longest scoring run of the season came against Michigan on April 10, scoring 16 straight goals in the 18-12 victory.
HOT START

Maryland completed its first undefeated regular season in 34 years. Maryland last finished a regular season undefeated in 1987, when the Terps started 12-0 and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals. Maryland has had eight undefeated regular seasons total in program history.
