
Tillman Named USILA Division I Coach Of The Year

ORLANDO, FL -- After leading Maryland to the 2022 NCAA Championship and an undefeated season at 18-0, Terrapin head coach John Tillman was named the USILA Division I Coach of the Year at the organization's convention in Orlando, Florida.
In leading Maryland to the 2022 title, it was the second time in five years the Terps won the championship, also winning in 2017. Tillman led Maryland to the 2022 Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
In going 18-0, the Terps were the first undefeated national champion since 2006 and the 18 wins without a defeat were the most in NCAA history. He was named the unanimous Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2022. The Terps set an NCAA single-season record for 204 assists while also setting program records for goals, assists, points.
Over the last two seasons, the Terps are 33-1. In his career, Tillman is 180-59 (.753) in 15 seasons as a head coach with a 160-40 (.800) mark in 12 years in College Park. His record in NCAA Tournament play is 28-9 (.757) with nine trips to the Final Four, winning the 2017 and 2022 National Championships.
