
Troy Schreffler Jr. Named Big Ten Player Of The Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland outfielder Troy Schreffler Jr. was named the Big Ten Player of The Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Schreffler Jr. earned the honor after a dominant week at the plate and in the field against Delaware and Siena. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, native collected nine hits for a .529 average with two home runs, nine RBIs and eight runs scored over four games this week.
The outfielder also made a highlight-reel grab against playing center field against Delaware, just days after making SportsCenter's Top Plays with a diving catch against Georgetown.
Schreffler Jr. went 1-4 with a run scored against Delaware (3/15), 2-4 with three runs scored, four RBIs, and a home run in Game One against Siena (3/19), followed that performance up with an RBI double in Game Two and ended the weekend going 5-6 with four runs scored, four RBIs, and a home run against Siena (3/20).
This season has been Schreffler Jr.'s best as a Terp, as he currently leads the No. 22 Maryland baseball team with a .368 batting average to go along with four home runs, 20 RBIs, 22 runs scored, and four steals.
