Wierman Earns Fourth Big Ten Weekly Honor

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland lacrosse faceoff specialist Luke Wierman earned his fourth Big Ten weekly honor on Tuesday, the conference announced.
In Sunday night's 18-7 defeat of Penn State, Wierman went 16-for-21 and picked up 10 groundballs. Off one faceoff victory in the second quarter, he sprinted down the field and scored his fifth goal of the season. Wierman has now won 130 of his 190 faceoffs for a 68.4 percent rate alongside 63 groundballs.
This is Wierman's fourth honor of the season and his career. No other player has earned more than three weekly honors this season.
He's now got five games this season with at least 16 faceoff victories and four games with double-digit groundballs.
