
Maryland Posts Top Performances on Final Day of Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Terrapins track and field teams wrapped up competition from the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet.
Caleb Dean led the way on the final day of competition, becoming the Big Ten runner up in the 400m hurdles, claiming second place in the finals.

Women's Notes:

The Maryland 4x100 squad of Jada Ellis, Kattiana Ealy-Pulido, Ariana Ealy-Pulido and Jaida Smith sprinted to a 45.76s finish, earning eighth place. The time also stands as the fourth fastest in Terrapins history for the event.

Kattiana Ealy-Pulido, Ariana Ealy-Pulido, Jaida Smith and Kasey Ebb sprinted to a 3:46.72 finish in the 4x400, earning a top ten result.

Christine Laurie ran to a 4:29.52 finish in the finals of the 1500m.

Chelsey Cole jumped to a mark of 12.09m, competing in the triple jump.

Kamryn Henderson (13.92m) and Sarah George (13.49m) competed in the shot put.

Katie Altieri competed in the 5K in her Big Ten Championship debut.
Men's Notes:

Caleb Dean hurdled to a 51.27s finish in the 400m hurdles, earning second place in the event. His runner up finish earns him All Big Ten honors.

Maryland's squad of Caleb Dean, Kamari Trotz, Joseph Ewan and Cameron Vereen sprinted to a 40.00s finish in the 4x100 relay, earning a fourth place finish in their fastest time of the season.

The Terps 4x400 squad of Brandon Turpin, Colin Rowe, Maxwell Myers and Solomon Lawrence raced to a 3:13.58 finish, taking sixth place.

Bryce Middleton cleared a personal best 2.00m in the high jump.

Gerald Norgbe jumped 14.66m in the triple jump for the Terps squad.
Coaches Comments:
"Today was a strong finish to the championships with podium performances and an overall team effort. Now we will continue to charge forward with several individuals moving to NCAA preliminary rounds."
Next Up:
The Terps will travel to the NCAA East Prelims on Thursday (5/26) through Saturday (5/28) which will be held in Indianapolis, IN.
