Terps Fall to Indiana, 6-4, Eliminated from B1G Tourney

OMAHA, NE -- Indiana defeated Maryland, 6-4 in 11 innings to eliminate the Terps from the Big Ten Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Charles Schwab Field. The Terps (45-12 overall) end the tournament 1-2 and turn its attention to NCAA Regional play next weekend.
Maryland took advantage of an Indiana error on a Maxwell Costes bunt to take the lead for good at 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning as two runs scored as the Terps' came back from a 3-2 deficit. Maryland held the lead into the ninth, but Indiana tied the game on a groundout double play, making it 4-4. The Hoosiers took the lead in the top of the 11th as Josh Pyne singled up the middle with two outs to score two runs.
Luke Shliger was 3-for-6 while Troy Schreffler Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Chris Alleyne drove in the Terps' other run. Matt Shaw scored two runs.
Indiana advanced to play in the final game of the day vs. second-seeded Rutgers.
