Terps Seeded 15th in NCAA Baseball Tournament

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland Baseball team earned the No. 15 seed in the 2022 NCAA Baseball Championship and will serve as the top seed in the College Park Regional, as announced Monday afternoon. The Terps will host second seeded Wake Forest, third seeded UConn and fourth seeded LIU in the College Park Regional at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, with games starting Friday, June 3. 

Maryland will take on LIU Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Wake Forest and UConn will open play in College Park at 1 p.m., with coverage on ESPNU. 

The Terps (45-12) are making their second consecutive tournament appearance, fifth since 2014, and eighth in program history. Maryland has previously captured regional titles on two occasions (2015, 2014). Maryland was previously selected as one of the 16 regional hosts sites on Sunday night. The Terps will be hosting an NCAA Regional for the first-time ever in College Park at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium. 

Fans will be able to purchase all-session general admission tickets for the College Park Regional, which includes a ticket to all potential games held at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium during June 3-5. Terrapin Club members will have priority access to purchase tickets for Regionals beginning at 1 PM on Monday, May 30. 

All-session tickets will go on sale to the general public Tuesday, May 31 at 1 PM and include tickets for all games June 3 through June 5.  All-session tickets are priced at $30 for youth and seniors and $60 for adults. Should the Regional advance to Monday, June 6, tickets will be sold as single session tickets beginning at 9 AM June 6.

Single session Regional tickets will go on sale Tuesday, May 31 at 5 PM. Single session tickets are priced at $5 for students of the participating schools, $8 for youth and seniors, and $12 for adults. 


The Terps enjoyed their best regular season in school history, winning a program-record 44 games along with their first-ever Big Ten Regular-Season Championship. It was the program's first conference title of any kind in 51 years. At Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium, the Terps are 24-2, their most home wins in school history. 

Maryland boasts 10 All-Big Ten selections, including Big Ten Player of the Year Chris Alleyne. Head coach Rob Vaughn was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year.
