COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland men's basketball head coach Kevin Willard announced the signing of Seton Hall transfer Jahari Long, who played two seasons under Willard with the Pirates. Long is a 6-5, 200-pound guard from Houston, Texas.
Long played in 24 games at Seton Hall over the last two seasons. Last season he only played in five games as he suffered a season-ending right knee injury and underwent surgery in December 2021 forcing him to miss the remainder of the season. He will be back to full strength for the 2022-23 season in College Park.
"Jahari is a great kid and will add a lot to our team here at Maryland," said Willard. "He has exceptional ball-handling skills and passes the ball at an elite level. He's an unselfish player who will look to create for his teammates. He can also score the ball when the opportunities arise and be a force on the defensive end. We are happy to welcome him to Maryland."
"Coach Willard knows my history and I appreciate him welcoming me to the team at Maryland," said Long. "He has pushed me to improve and stayed loyal to me over the years and I appreciate that. Now, I'm ready to show the Terp fans my skills as a guard and help this team win."JAHARI LONG
