
Terps Take on Nittany Lion Challenge

UNIVERSITY PARK – The Maryland Track and field squads competed in the Nittany Lion Challenge at Penn State University.
Maryland's squads competed in their first competition since the Navy invitational prior to winter break. The Terps were off to a hot start, garnering several podium finishes, and personal bests.

Women's Notes:

Kayla Woods (5.97m- 19'7") was victorious in the long jump.

Anna Coffin (4:54.41) took third place and set a new personal best in the mile. Katie Turk (5:13.33) Amanda Eliker (5:14.92) and Katerina Talanova (5:16.06) also competed in the event.

Gwen Zeckowski took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.58m (11'9)

Kayla Thorpe (13.93m) took third place in the shot put. Sarah George (13.89m) Jayla Bynum (13.51) and Kamryn Henderson (13.49m) also took top ten results.

Sarah George (16.79) Kamryn Henderson (16.72) and Jayla Bynum (16.20) also took top five finishes in the weight throw.

Kami Joi Hickson (1:35.96) took fourth in the 600m. Lydia Robling (1:37.53) also competed for the Terps.

Kattiana Ealy-Pulido took fourth in the 60m hurdles.

Michaela Bracken cleared 1.65m in the high jump to open up her season.

Kyra Lyles (57.16s) took sixth in the 400m.

Sophia Zell (3:02.35) and Samantha Facius (3:05.35) competed in the 1000m for the terps.

Madison Depry (25.36) and Maya Mosley (26.16) competed in the 200m.

Katie Altieri (9:56.15) and Anna Coffin (9:58.02) had a strong race in the 3000m. This was Coffin's 2nd PR of the competition.

Maryland's 4x400 squad of Kayla Woods, Kyra Lyles, Kami Joi Hickson, and Lydia Robling rounded out the meet racing to a 3:51.89 finish and taking third.
Men's Notes:

Jeff Kline (19.30m) took third place in the shot put. Rhys Allen (15.78m) also competed in the event.

Tyler Baruch (6.80m) took sixth in the long jump.

Luke Tobia (19.04m) took third in the weight throw.

Brandon Turpin (8.33s) and Drake Murphy (8.35s) earned top five finishes in the 60m hurdles. This was a personal best for Murphy.

Chase McGeehan set a personal record of 1:53.53 in the 800m placing 3rd in the event.

Kevin Collins took fourth in the 60m dash with a personal best 6.95. Tommy Adebayo also set a personal best of 6.93 in the qualifying rounds.

Kevin Collins (22.12s) took fifth in the 200m. Kamari Trotz also competed.
