Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD – The No. 9 Terps closed out their 2023 home campaign by besting the Indiana Hoosiers, 2-1. Sunday's home finale was also senior day, and the team's eight graduating seniors were recognized alongside their families before the game.
The result moved Maryland to 14-3 (6-1 B1G) on the season with only one more game to go before the Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers left College Park at 5-12 (0-7 B1G). The Terps have won seven games in a row.
The Terps are just one game behind No. 1 Northwestern (7-0 B1G) for the overall No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. With a win at Northwestern on Thursday, the Terps would claim at least a share of the Big Ten Championship.
The Terps controlled the game for the entirety of the first half, thanks to Margot Lawn's early goal and Alyssa Klebasko's four saves across the first two quarters. But the one-point advantage put Indiana within an arm's reach of the Terps, which the Hoosiers were able to capitalize on by scoring in the early minutes of the third quarter.
But Maryland responded in minutes, as
Maci Bradford netted her eighth goal of the year to put the Terps back up 2-1.
Key blocks by Klebasko in the second-half maintained Maryland's one-goal lead and held the Terps' advantage for the remainder of the contest. Klebasko concluded the game with seven saves.
