Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland continued its home court win streak with a 73-67 victory over Nicholls on Tuesday night at XFINITY Center. The Terps (7-4) have now won 18 consecutive home games dating back nearly a full year. Maryland's 18-game home court win streak, which started on Dec. 22, 2022, is the fifth-longest in the nation. The Terps will take on the team with the longest streak on Friday night, UCLA, which has won 29 straight home games in Pauley Pavilion.
Jahmir Young led the Terps with 23 points and a season-best 11 rebounds. It was his first double-double of the season and eighth of his career. He also extended his consecutive free throws made streak to 34 going 10-of-10 in the game.
Donta Scott broke out with 15 points as he knocked down 4-of-8 3-pointers along with grabbing seven rebounds.
Julian Reese had nine points and 13 rebounds for his sixth game with double-figure rebounds on the season. He also had a career-high six blocked shots.
The Terps recorded a season-best 13 blocked shots, the most for Maryland in a game since blocking 13 Loyola (Chicago) shots on Dec. 8, 2018. It was also the most blocks by any Big Ten team in a game this season. Maryland's defense held Nicholls to 39.4 percent shooting from the floor.
The Terps have won every home game since last season's match-up in December against UCLA. That marks the second longest home win streak for the Terps since winning 27 straight from Dec. 6, 2014 through Feb. 9, 2016.
Diante Smith led the way for Nicholls (4-7) with 18 points. Jalen White also knocked down 5-of-6 3-pointers.

- Maryland and Nicholls went back and forth for most of the first half with the lead changing hands six times. The largest lead over the first 15 minutes was just four points at 20-16 after a Young three-pointer with 7:53 left in the first half. Young's jumper in the paint put the Terps up 25-20 with 4:41 on the clock. Scott's three-pointer at the buzzer put the Terps up 28-27 at halftime.
- Nicholls took a 43-34 lead thanks to a 13-0 run early in the second half keyed by two White three-pointers. The Terps chipped away keyed by Scott's shooting as he canned a pair of 3-pointers to cut the deficit to two at 47-45 with 9:23 left in the game.
- Maryland tied the game at 49-49 on a Jordan Geronimo putback with 7:18 left in the game. Jahari Long's triple 25 seconds later made it 52-49 in the Terps' favor. After the Colonels tied the game at 55-55 on White's fifth 3-pointer of the game, Maryland took a 59-55 lead on a pair of free throws by Reese and another Geronimo bucket with 4:26 left. The Terps held the lead for the rest of the game. Long's 3-pointer with 1:08 left sealed the game.

Jake Layman (2012-16) and Juan Dixon (1998-2002) both played 141 games. Scott also started his 125th career game which ranks third-most in program history.
