Hardshells In The PLL - Week Nine Recap

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - In the penultimate week of the PLL regular season, the league took over Seattle, WA where the fans were treated to several big games and highlights from our Pro Terps.

This weeks' results included a pair of one-goal wins (Cannons topped Atlas 14-13 and Redwoods beat Chrome 11-10) and a big 13-8 win for Waterdogs.

The PLL will now move to Salt Lake City, UT for the final weekend of action in the regular season. Games will take place on Friday, August 25th and Saturday, August 26th.

Below is a full breakdown of all the Pro Terps' performances from the past weekend.
Atlas

Once again, Brett Makar continued to excel in his rookie season specifically when it comes to groundballs where he continues to rank second among non-faceoff specialists in the category. Against Cannons, he finished with seven groundballs in addition to his team-best two caused turnovers. Fellow 2022 National Champion John Geppert had another solid outing after making his professional debut last weekend. With Atlas playing just four poles, Geppert has had ample playing time and has made the most of it. He finished with four groundballs.

Cannons

Jonathan Donville scored two goals in the Cannons win Friday night. SSDM Bubba Fairman notched a team-best three caused turnovers.

Chrome

2022 Tewaaraton Award winner Logan Wisnauskas stopped a brief shooting slump with an impressive four-goal day to lead the way for the Chrome offense on Saturday. His first goal of the night came off a nice feed from Jesse Bernhardt, who led the way for the Chrome defense with four caused turnovers and two groundballs. Wisnauskas also added a caused turnover and a groundball while Alex Smith added four groundballs, Nick Grill had two and Colin Heacock scooped one.

redwoods

Captain Isaiah Davis-Allen finished with a groundball as the Redwoods won their second consecutive one-goal game.

Waterdogs

All-star Connor Kelly notched his first goal since June 16 after dealing with a lengthy injury absence and did so in highlight fashion, canning his fifth two-bomb of the season. He also scooped three groundballs. SSDM Jake Higgins notched a caused turnover and a groundball.

Whipsnakes

In a hard-fought loss against the league's top team, Mike Chanenchuk led the Whips' offense with four points (1 2G, 2G) while Michael Ehrhardt continued to prove he is one of the top offensive threats at LSM by posting three points ( 1 2G, 1G, 1A). Matt Rambo also added a pair of goals.

Ehrhardt also continued his superb performances defensively, finishing his night with 2 CTs and a groundball. The all-Terp starting close defense of Tim Muller (1 CT, 2 GB), Bryce Young (1 CT, 1 GB) and Matt Dunn (1 GB) was also strong yet again. Additionally, the Whips' two Terp shorties, Jake Bernhardt and Roman Puglise, combined for three groundballs. Keegan Khan also scooped a groundball.
