STANFORD, CA- The Maryland Terrapins defeated UNLV 4-1 on Friday at Stanford in their first of two matches they will compete in for the 2024 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
UNLV won the first two doubles matches to take the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.
The Terps responded by winning four straight singes matches to clinch the 4-1 victory.
"We're really proud of the team's response today after losing the doubles, " said Head Coach Katie Dougherty. "Taking 5 first sets put us in a great position down 0-1 and the team capitalized."
"UNLV is scrappy and made us work really hard to come out on the winning end today and I'm very happy with how we handled the elements competing outside against an outdoor team," said Coach Dougherty.
