
Maryland Falls At No. 14 Minnesota To Wrap Up Roadtrip

MINNEAPOLIS – Maryland volleyball was defeated by No. 14 Minnesota, 3-0 (21-25, 15-25, 18-25) on Saturday at Maturi Pavilion. The Terps, who are 10-7 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten, wrap up their two-game road trip.
Maryland put up a fight in set one, as both teams were tied at 15 apiece before Minnesota pulled ahead late with a valiant blocking effort. Samantha Schnitta tallied six kills in the set alone. The same transpired in the third set as the Terps were tied at 14, but the Gophers sparked a timely 7-1 run later to close out the set.
Schnitta finished the match with 13 kills, five digs and one ace. She now has 53 service aces on the season, leading the NCAA.

- Minnesota opened the first set leading 4-2 with three kills and an attack error by Maryland.

- Schnitta recorded a kill and a sideout for the Terps. Minnesota led 9-3.

- Sydney Dowler with a setter dump to put the Terps up 6-4.
- Eva Rohrbach with a well-timed block on an overpass, kept Maryland's lead at 12-10.
- Csire with another high hands kill to tool the block at 17-18.
- Maryland lost set three 25-18 after a huge block from the Gophers.
