Maryland To Set Volleyball Attendance Record On Senior Day This Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, MD --  Maryland volleyball has a final road test against Rutgers before hosting No. 2 Nebraska for the regular season finale. The Terps will open the weekend in Piscataway to face the Scarlet Knights at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 29. They will then return home to host the Huskers at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 30.

Friday's contest will air on B1G+, followed by Saturday's match on the Big Ten Network.

Saturday's match will be played on the XFINITY Center Main Court. Tickets can be purchased here. The Terps are on pace to smash previous attendance records, with ticket sales already doubling the current record of 4,522 set in 2014.

  • Maryland sits at 13-16 overall and owns a 4-14 conference record ahead of the final week of the regular season.
  • The Terps current attendance record was set a decade ago against Penn State on October 23, 2014. The last time Maryland placed on the XFINITY Center court was on October 26, 2019 against the Nittany Lions.

  • Schnitta leads the team in kills, averaging 3.37 per set. The graduate student has recorded 19 matches with ten or more kills and set a new career-high (22) against UCLA. Behind her sits Sam Csire, averaging 2.73 kills per set.
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split time on the court throughout conference play. Huang leads the Terps with 5.11 assists per set. In conference play, Dowler has the most assists with 520. 
  • Fifth year libero, Lilly Gunter ranks twelfth in the Big Ten averaging 3.35 digs per set. She has added 10 or more digs in five of her six most recent matches.
  • Anastasia Russ leads the Terps with 99 blocks, with 33 of them coming in the last six matches. She leads the Terps in blocks per set averaging 1.14. Eva Rohrbach is a close second, with 96 blocks on the year.

  • Maryland owns a 24-14 program record over Rutgers. The Terps took a three-set victory over the Scarlet Knights earlier this season in College Park.
  • Saturday's match will be the twenty-first all-time meeting between these squads. Nebraska owns a 19-1 record over the Terps. Maryland's win came in 1975 at AIAW Nationals.

  • Rutgers sits 6-23 overall and 1-17 conference record. Last weekend, the Scarlet Knights picked up their first conference win over Northwestern in four sets after dropping a contest with Illinois.
  • The Scarlet Knights rank last in the conference in kills (11.04) and digs (11.89) per set. They sit similarly to Maryland in assists per set (10.43) and blocks per set (2.27). 
  • They are led by Alissa Kinkela, Aly Borellis, Kenzie Dyrstad and Natalie Robinson.
  • Nebraska owns a 28-1 overall record and sit a perfect 18-0 in the conference. Most recently, the Huskers picked up wins over Iowa and then-No. 6 Wisconsin.
