EAST LANSING, MI – Maryland gymnastics posted its best finish and best score in Big Ten Championships history on Saturday at Jenison Field House. With a score of 196.775, Maryland recorded a high in its Big Ten history, bettering the mark of 196.450 in the 2022 Big Ten Championships. Maryland was in first place after the day session before finishing in fifth place overall, which was also the Terps' best finish ever -- bettered the sixth-place finish in 2022.  During the day session, Maryland competed against Illinois, Nebraska, Penn State, Iowa and Rutgers. Michigan State won the title with a 197.600.  Maryland's final rotation on the uneven bars cemented it as the winner of session one. Rothenbuescher and LeBlanc were also in a three-way tie for the highest score of an individual competitor.   The Terps began their first rotation on the balance beam and got off to an exceptional start. They scored 49.025 as a team, led by Madeline Komoroski's 9.875 score. Her score was tied for first amongst all competitors. Freshman Natalie Martin also posted a 9.850 to contribute to a consistently solid session.  On floor exercise, the Terps turned in another impressive performance.
