COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland continues its 10-game road swing with a trip to take on Delaware. This is the second match-up of the season between the Terrapins and the Blue Hens, with the Terps winning the previous meeting in a 3-2 pitcher's duel at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium back on March 5. The game will be streamed on FloSports and will air on the Maryland Baseball Network. The game will also be available in Maryland's Eastern Shore and on Delaware of the Delmarva Sports Network.

Maryland (23-14) heads into this midweek game after dropping two of three games on the road against Northwestern. After leading most of game one, Maryland lost the lead late as the game went to extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Northwestern got a single to give them the walk-off win 6-5. Game two went differently for the Terps, as the Northwestern offense got off to a quick start as it took a 11-1 win. In game three of the series, The Terps got out to a 8-4 lead thanks in part to a pair of two-run home runs for Eddie Hacopian, the first two home run game of the career for the junior infielder. Northwestern would storm back, as they homered in three consecutive innings to tie the game at eight apiece. With the bases-loaded in the bottom of the ninth, freshman left-hander Evan Smith got the next three batters out to preserve the tie and send the game to extras for the second time in the weekend. Sam Hojnar clubbed his eighth home run of the season in the top of the tenth to put the Terps up one heading into the bottom half. Northwestern would make one more push to tie the game with two outs as second baseman Owen McElfatrick launched a pitch to the left center field fence. Elijah Lambros leaped at the wall to rob the home run to secure the one-run win for the Terps 9-8.

Maryland and Delaware have 43 meetings in the all-time series, with Maryland leading the series with a record of 27-15-1. This is the second game between the Terrapins and the Blue Hens this season, as they previously met on March 5 in a 3-2 win for the Terps. Team Captain Kevin Keister led the way with two RBI in the low-scoring win.

Delaware (18-16) comes into this game after dropping two of three to CAA conference foe Northeastern. It was a high-scoring affair all weeknd for both teams, as Northeastern would take the first two games of the series 12-8 and 10-9. In the series finale, Delaware would fall behind by a score of 4-3 through the first four innings. In the fifth and sixth innings, Delaware would score seven unanswered runs to take a 10-3 lead. Both teams would trade a run in the seventh, but big offensive innings came in the eighth as both teams combined for seven runs in the inning. Northeastern would add two more in the top of the ninth, but the comeback came up short as Delaware picked up a 14-10 win in the series finale. Jake Dunion comes into the week with the team lead in batting average, as the redshirt senior outfielder has a .382 average. Joey Loynd is the team leader in home runs (nine) and RBI (38) so far this season. On the mound, Anthony Gubitosi leads the team in ERA with a 3.72 ERA with 27 strikeouts through 19.1 innings. Ethan Shaub is the team leader in wins, coming into the week with a 3-2 record with 17 strikeouts in 27.1 innings on the season.
