COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland softball run-ruled UMBC, 14-1, at Maryland Softball Stadium on Wednesday. The Terps (18-24) scored 10 of their runs in the third inning and finished with a season-high for runs scored.
Maryland loaded the bases with no outs in the third and cracked seven hits to mount its lead. Overall, the Terps led from start to finish and eight different Terps drove in runs for a collective effort in the batter's box. They also registered 13 hits as a team, which is their second-best output of the season.
Delaney Reefe and Mazie MacFarlane each finished with a game-high three RBIs. Reefe recorded a single and a double in the third inning, going 2-for-3 and adding a run. MacFarlane went 2-for-4 and added two runs.
Jaeda McFarland supplied two RBIs and
Michaela Jones went 3-for-3 with two runs.
Bri Godfrey pitched her second complete game of the season and allowed just one hit and one earned run. She struck out four batters and even drew an RBI walk for her first RBI in a Maryland uniform.
Bailey Murphy and Julia Shearer notched their first hits as Terps. Shearer also notched her first RBI.
UMBC (16-18) scored its lone run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Courtney Johnson.

- Maryland once again loaded the bases with no outs in the third. This time the Terps plastered 10 runs on the scoreboard. Hannah Runk was awarded an RBI walk, Delaney Reefe hit an RBI single and a two-RBI double, Jaeda McFarland cracked a two-RBI single and scored on a wild pitch, Diamond Williams supplied an RBI single and Mazie MacFarlane hit a two-RBI single.
- UMBC scored one run on an RBI single in the bottom of the inning. The Terps led 11-1.
- The Terps added three runs in the fourth. Julia Shearer hit an RBI double and Sydney Lewis and MacFarlane hit a sacrifice fly. Maryland led 14-1.
Terps In The Record Books
- Megan Mikami broke the school's stolen bases record against Virginia on March 12. She added to her career total by stealing a base, giving her 75 in her four seasons.
- Jaeda McFarland stole a base today and is now second in school history with 67 for her career. She broke a tie with Vangie Galindo (2009-12) and is chasing her teammate Mikami who stands alone with 75 stolen bases.
- Michaela Jones is tied for fourth on the career triples list with eight in her career. She hit one in the fourth inning to break a three-way tie and is now tied with Amanda McCann (2011-14).
