COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Jack Koras and
Luke Wierman were named the Big Ten Offensive Player and Specialist of the Week, respectively. The No. 9 Terps are coming off a 13-11 come-from-behind win over then-No. 4 Penn State on Sunday evening.
Koras scored a game-high four goals to help orchestrate a thrilling Maryland comeback over No. 4 Penn State. The Terps were down by as many as five goals and trailed by three heading into the fourth quarter when Koras scored two goals in the first 26 seconds of the fourth. He also scooped four groundballs and played a crucial role on the wing to help Maryland win 17-of-28 face-offs. The Terps are 41-1 against Penn State all time now.
Wierman finished 16-of-27 at the faceoff dot and tied his career-high with two assists. He won 11 of 14 face-offs in the second half.
Koras wins his second-ever Big Ten Weekly honor and first this season. Wierman earns his third this season and eight of his career. Five different Terps have now won a conference honor this month.
The Terps are back in action Saturday, April 6 when they host Ohio State. The game will face off at noon and will air on B1G+.
