COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland volleyball prepares for the final weekend of non-conference play. The Terps will face Delaware State on Wednesday, before heading to Orlando, Florida for the UCF Tournament. They will face Nevada on Friday followed by a contest with UCF on Saturday.

Wednesday's match will be broadcast on B1G+, while the match against UCF will air on ESPN+.

  • Maryland sits 6-2 overall after increasing its win streak to five matches.
  • The Terps are coming off their second-consecutive weekend sweep against Lehigh and UMBC. Maryland won in three straight sets over the Mountain Hawks and the Retrievers, marking their fifth three-set win of the season. 
  • Serving has been a point of emphasis for Maryland throughout the season and that strength is only growing. The Terps average 2.07 service aces per set, raking second in the Big Ten. 
  • In the Terps' last match against UMBC, three players added ten or more kills - Samantha Schnitta, Sam Csire and Sydney Bryant.

  • Samantha Schnitta and Sam Csire continue to lead the Terps in kills and aces nearing the end of the non-conference schedule. Schnitta ranks third in the Big Ten in service aces per set with 0.68. The pin hitter sits twelfth in the conference averaging 3.50 kills per set. Csire sits right behind Schnitta averaging 2.96 kills and 0.46 aces per set. 
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split the setter duties throughout the season. The pair have nearly the same assist average with just under six assists per set. Huang has also been another dominant server for the Terps picking up a career-high three aces against UMBC on Sunday.
  • On the defensive side of the ball, Lilly Gunter ranks eleventh in the Big Ten averaging 3.41 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in five matches so far this season.
  • Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 37. The sophomore put up a career best 11 blocks in the first two matches and has added at least two blocks in every match since then. Anastasia Russ has continued to be a leader as a blocker. The graduate student has added six matches with three or more blocks, including two matches with 7 apiece.

  • This will be the second meeting in program history between Maryland and Delaware State. Maryland holds the 1-0 advantage after beating the Hornets, 3-0, in 2016. Adam Hughes was an assistant coach for Maryland at the time.
  • The Terrapins are 1-0 all-time against Nevada. The last time these squads faced each other was in 2010 where Maryland took the victory after four sets. 
  • Saturday's contest with UCF will be the first-ever meeting between the Terps and the Knights.

  • The Delaware State Hornets are 2-7 coming into Wednesday's match. They picked up their most recent win over Albany at the UConn Tournament on Saturday. 
  • The Hornets are statistically led by Gerren Tomlin, Morgan Allen and Hannah Sanders. Gerren averages 2.34 kills per set. Defensively, Allen records 2.70 digs per set while Sanders tallies .77 blocks per set.  
  • Nevada enters the tournament 7-2 after a recent tournament sweep at the Riverside Classic.
  • The Wolves have a balanced offense with two players averaging over three kills per set. Setter Tehya Maeva is their leader in assists, posting 8.49 helpers per set. Defensively, Bella Snyder posts just over one block per set and Kinsley Singleton owns 4.19 digs per set.
  • UCF is 5-1 ahead of its tournament. The Knights faced then-No. 21 Florida State on Sunday, falling 3-1 with a win in the third set. Avah Armour is the Knights' leader in kills, averaging 3.78 kills per set. Megan Holland leads in blocks with 1.50 blocks per set. 
  • Nevada and UCF wil face off on Thursday.
