Terps Lose To Washington In Conference Matchup, 3-0

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland women's soccer was defeated by Washington, 3-0, on Sept. 19 at Ludwig Field. 

The Terps were unable to get on the board in the contest. They now sit at 3-3-4 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play. 

Senior goalkeeper Liz Beardsley made three saves. She ranks second in the Big Ten with 38 saves through 10 games. 
  Samiah Shell (twice) and Radisson Banks were Washington's goal scorers. The Huskies improved to 4-2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference matches.

  • Washington struck early in the game's first minute to grab a 1-0 lead. 
  • Maryland's first shot came in the fifth minute from Taryn Raibon.
  • The Terps had a potential game-tying opportunity in the 47th minute with a crosser set-up ruled offside.
  • The Huskies struck again in the 52nd minute off a long shot to the bottom left of the net.
  • In the 54th minute, Kelsey Smith nearly scored Maryland's first goal with a high shot to the top left that Washington's goalkeeper saved.
  • Washington added its third goal of the night in the 78th minute.
