Terps Extend Win Streak With Sweep Over Nevada In UCF Tournament

ORLANDO – Maryland volleyball swept Nevada (25-15, 25-14, 25-22) on Sep. 20 in the UCF Tournament at The Venue. Maryland (8-2) has now won seven consecutive games, its longest win streak since winning 13 straight games to begin the 2021 campaign. The win was also Maryland's sixth sweep of the season.

The Terps got off to a convincing win in their first set, finishing the set on a 6-0 run. They were led by Sam Csire, who had eight kills. Maryland is 7-0 when winning the first set this season.

The second set had a similar outcome. The Terps went on an early 6-0 run in the second and never looked back. They never allowed the Wolf Pack to come within four points for the remainder of the set. The third set was much more tightly contested, but a 6-0 run in the middle of the third set gave Maryland enough momentum to complete the sweep.

Csire finished the match just short of a double-double. She recorded 12 kills and nine digs. Samantha Schnitta added 12 kills, four digs, three aces and three blocks with a .400 hitting percentage.

Sydney Dowler and Zoe Huang combined for 21 assists. Huang tallied 13 assists and 10 digs to give her the second double-double of her career. Lilly Gunter led the Terps with 14 digs, and Anastasia Russ led with six blocks as other standout performers.

Nevada is now 7-4 on the season after beginning its campaign 4-1.
