The XI

Coach Nemzer's Take

"I felt the first 45 minutes we were a bit on our heels and then we made some adjustments at halftime. I thought the second half adjustments resulted in more urgency to go to goal and more opportunities. I felt like we were on their half of the field. I felt like one was coming as well, it was too much of a slow start for us in the first 45 minutes."

Breaking Down The Action
  • Illinois struck first on a penalty kick goal in the 16th minute.
  • In the 22nd minute, Liz Beardsley had a nice sequence where she made a diving one-handed save.
  • Beardsley prevented another goal-scoring opportunity with a low-diving save in the 28th minute.
  • Ava Morales gave the Terps its first shot attempt in the 32nd minute, which was just high above the net.
  • Illinois had a shot-on-goal opportunity in the 57th minute, which Beardsley saved.
  • The Illinois goalkeeper saved the Terps' redirect shot from a free-kick opportunity in the 65th minute.
  • Taryn Raibon had a shot that went off the top of the crossbar in the 69th minute.
