EAST LANSING, MI – With a 10th-place individual finish, junior Rose Coats became the Terps' first ever All-Big Ten First Team performer as she led Maryland at the Big Ten Championship hosted by Michigan State.

The last time the Terps had an All-Conference performer in cross country was in 2017 when Alexandra Lucki placed 12th to earn All-Big Ten honors. Coats is the 10th all-conference performer in Maryland's cross country program history, but is the first ever to receive All-Big Ten First Team honors. 

Coats crossed the line first for the Terps in 10th out of 165 runners. She completed the 6k course with a time of 20:14.2, significantly improving her performance by eighteen spots from last year's Big Ten Championships.

Katie Dutko placed 91st (21:49.1) followed by Ellie Keefer in 134th with a time of 22 minutes, 36 seconds. The top five was rounded out by Lucy Scothern (142nd, 22:46.4) and Leonora Lynn (148th, 23:04.4).

No.4 Oregon took the top spot for team finishes with a score of 18 as they went 1-2-3 in individual finishes. Second place had No.12 Penn State at 78, followed by No.8 Northwestern in third with 96. The top-5 team scores concluded with No.20 Washington in fourth with 103 and No.24 Michigan State in fifth with 147. Maryland finished 15th with a score of 412.

Up Next: Next for the Terps in the postseason is the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional race set to take place on November 14th in Bethlehem, PA. The start time has yet to be announced.
