Derik Queen Named To Big Ten All-Tournament Team

COLLEGE PARK, MD – After averaging 25.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinal and Semifinal, Maryland's Derik Queen was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team on Sunday night. Queen is the first Terp in program history to earn Big Ten All-Tournament honors.

He becomes the first Maryland player since Dez Wells in 2013 to earn all-tournament honors overall. Joining him on the 2025 Big Ten All-Tournament Team were Vladislav Goldin (Michigan), Danny Wolf (Michigan), John Blackwell (Wisconsin), and John Tonje (Wisconsin).

Queen shot 56.7% from the floor (17-of-30) and 14-of-16 (.875) from the free throw line. In the win over Illinois, he had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Maryland's first-ever double-double in a Big Ten Tournament game. He followed that with 31 points (10-19 FG) and three rebounds in the loss to Michigan. His 31 points were the most for a Terp in a Big Ten Tournament game as well.

The game-high 31 points for Queen, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, in the Michigan game were the most points by a Maryland freshman in any game since 2015, the most points by a Maryland freshman in any Big Ten Tournament game, and the most points by any freshman in a Big Ten Tournament game since 2008. He was the first Terp overall to score 30+ in a tournament game since Dez Wells had in the 2013 ACC Quarterfinals. He now has 11 20-plus point games this year which are the most for a single-season since Joe Smith had 15 in 1993-94.
