SETTING THE STAGE
- The GymTerps begin week three ranked No. 30 in the Road to Nationals ranking. Maryland also placed at No. 25 on vault, No. 27 on bars, and No. 34 on floor, looking to build upon their previous 196.175 win at home versus GW, Yale and Towson.
- Senior Hailey Merchant sealed a career-high 9.925 on bars.
- Sophomore Gianna Ruffing performed a career-best 9.775 on the floor, in only her second career meet.
- Junior Maddie Komoroski matched her season-best 9.900 on balance beam for the fifth time this season.
- Senior Tasha Brozowski was named a 2025 Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree.
- Both Rhea LeBlanc and Alexa Rothenbuescher were named 2025 AAI Award Nominees.
- The 2025 Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships will be conducted in three sessions, with Nebraska, Rutgers, Ohio State and Washington competing on March 21 at 6 p.m. ET. Iowa, Maryland, Penn State and Illinois will compete in the afternoon session at 12 p.m. ET on March 22 while UCLA, Minnesota, Michigan State and Michigan will compete in the evening session at 5 p.m. ET.
- Senior Sierra Kondo reached a career high of 9.950 on uneven bars at the Terrapins home opener against a ranked UCLA.
- Kondo not only set a personal best but also tied the program's individual event record, cementing her place among Maryland's all-time greats.
- Maryland broke its attendance record at their home opener, drawing an incredible 7,287 fans for the highly anticipated matchup against the previously ranked No. 11 UCLA.
- The Terps were ranked No. 24 in the WCGA Preseason Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the College Gym News Preseason Poll. The Terps enter the 2025 season looking to reach the NCAA Regionals for the seventh consecutive year (seven including the 2020 season, when Regionals were not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic)
Graduate Alexa Rothenbuescher was named a 2025 AAI Award Nominee.

- The NCAA Regional meets will take place between April 2 and 6, where Maryland hopes to improve upon their 196.350 score from 2024. The NCAA semis and finals will be held between April 17 and 19.
Sophomore Natalie Martin was named a Big Ten Gymnast to watch prior to the season.
2024 Big Ten Championships Recap
- At the 2024 Big Ten Championships, Maryland was in first place after the day session before finishing in fifth place overall, which was also the Terps' best finish ever -- bettered the sixth-place finish in 2022.
- With a score of 196.775, Maryland recorded a high score in its Big Ten history, bettering the mark of 196.450 in the 2022 Big Ten Championships.
- Maryland also had their highest team NQS at the 2024 Championships with a 196.790.
