Terps Lose Series Finale To No. 7 UCLA

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland softball was defeated by No. 7 UCLA, 10-1, in game three of its series at Maryland Softball Stadium on Sunday afternoon before 1004 fans. Between games two and three, there was a combined 2,204 attendance. The 1,200 fans in attendance for game two was the most since at least 2018. Maryland is now 15-18 overall and 3-7 in Big Ten play.

The Terps only trailed 2-1 entering the fifth inning. However, the Bruins (32-5, 7-1 Big Ten) broke the game open by scoring nine runs in the fifth inning. The inning was highlighted by a grand slam and a two-run home run.

Sammi Woods brought home the Terps' lone run in the second inning, belting an RBI double. She drove in Sam Bean, who recorded a leadoff double. Mazie MacFarlane also recorded a hit in the contest.

Keira Bucher pitched the first four innings of the game before Bri Godfrey made a relief appearance. Bucher surrendered just two runs on four hits through those innings. However, Bucher re-entered the game and recorded the final two outs for the Terps.
