Where We've Been
- The Terrapins are 7-2 this season and 3-1 in Big Ten play. This season Maryland has ranked wins over #13 JMU and #11 Michigan. Junior Kori Edmondson is the catalyst for the Terrapins offense and leads the team with 32 points and 25 goals. Grad student Chrissy Thomas leads the team with 15 assists. Defensively, the Terps are anchored by captains Kennedy Major and Neve O'Ferrall.
- Maryland defeated Oregon, 16-4, in the program's first-ever matchup on Thursday. The Terps opened the game with seven unanswered goals. Their defense also held the Ducks scoreless for the first 27:11 of the game. The impressive start allowed Maryland to lead for the entirety of the contest.
- Three Terps posted a hat trick. Kori Edmondson led Maryland with a career-high tying four goals. She recorded the 23rd hat trick of her career and has six hat tricks this season. Lauren LaPointe (three goals & two assists) recorded the second hat trick of her career with a career-high five points. Emma Abbazia (three goals) recorded the first hat trick of her career.

- This marks the 30th meeting between Maryland and Penn. The Terps have historically controlled the series, leading 26-3 over the past 45 years. The two teams first met in 1980, with Maryland earning a 5-4 victory.
- Hailey Russo and Kori Edmondson are the only current Terps who recorded a goal against Pennsylvania last season. In 2024, Edmondson scored two goals, but the Terps would fall to Penn 13-9 in College Park.

- The University of Pennsylvania will host Maryland after starting the season 5-3. This season they have a ranked win over No. 16 Loyola.
- Offensively, Anna Brandt leads the way for the Quakers, leading the team in goals with 27. Brant is first in the conference in ground balls per game.
- In goal, Orly Sedramsk anchors the Penn defense. This season she has a 10.28 GAA and a .429 save percentage which ranks third and fourth in the conference respectively.

Kayla Gilmore was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the first time this past week.

- With three assists in the 2025 season opener, Chrissy Thomas became just the 66th player in Maryland women's lacrosse history to reach the 100-point mark for her career. Thomas currently has 120 points which ranks her 57th on the all-time list.
- Kori Edmondson recorded her 100th career goal against No. 3 Northwestern. With that goal, Edmondson now ranks 59th all-time on Maryland's career point list with 117 career points.

- On February 14, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 2025 IWLCA Hall of Fame, which included Maryland head coach Cathy Reese.
- Reese has guided Maryland to five national championships (2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019), 11 Final Fours, and 20 regular-season and tournament championships across the ACC and Big Ten. She is recognized as a four-time IWLCA National Coach of the Year (2010, 2014, 2015, 2019) and a 12-time Conference Coach of the Year.
