COLLEGE PARK, MD – Graduate long stick midfielder Jack McDonald has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in Maryland's 11-8 win over rival Johns Hopkins on Friday night.
McDonald anchored the Terps' defensive effort, tallying a team-high three caused turnovers and five ground balls to help secure the win and clinch the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
This marks McDonald's second Big Ten weekly honor of the season.
No. 2 Maryland returns to action on Thursday, May 1, in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals at the University of Michigan. The Terps will face the winner of Johns Hopkins vs. Penn State at 7:30 PM.
