COLLEGE PARK, MD - After a successful showing at the first home meet of the season, the Track Terps are set to travel to Gainesville, FL this weekend as they compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays. Events will start at 8:00 AM on Friday and 9:00 AM on Saturday.

This will be the fourth meet of the outdoor season leading up to Big Ten Championships in Eugene, OR from May 16-18 and the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR from June 11-14.
Maryland will host two track meets at Kehoe Track & Field this season with the Maryland Invite on March 29 and the Kehoe Twilight Meet on May 2.

The Terps are set to compete in eight meets this year to prep for the Big Ten and NCAA Championships.

Nyla Cherry won the women's long jump at 6.05m, her new PR by 0.3m.
Katerina Talanova won the women's 1500m at 4 minutes, 35.85 seconds,
Max Worley won the men's 1500m at 3 minutes 57.50 seconds.
Armanie Coleman won the women's 100m (12.02 seconds) and 200m (24.16).
Roman Spikes won the men's 100m (10.74 seconds) and 200m (21.22) putting him ninth all-time in the 200m.
Kanai Bey took first in the women's 400m at 55.10 seconds.
In the women's 800m, Katie Turk set a new PR and won with a time of 2 minutes, 10.99 seconds.
Tolu Akinduro won the women's 400mH with a time of 1 minute 2.37 seconds.
The women's 4x100 team of Madison Depry, Maya Valmon, Sam Payne, and Armanie Coleman posted a time of 45.70 seconds, winning the event and putting them at fourth all-time.
As for the men's 4x100 team of Joshua Goffe, Tanner Leach, Roman Spikes, and Mykel Morman, they won with a time of 40.30 seconds, moving them from seventh to tie at fifth all-time.
The Terps won the women's 4x400 with Kanai Bey, Emma Pegg, Katerina Talanova, and Maya Mosley running a 3:45.87.
The men's 4x400 team of Sam Ford, Joshua Goffe, Isaiah Chapman, and DJ Tarver also won the event with a time of 3:13.03.

The Women's 4x100 relay team now rank 4th all-time.

Andrew Harmon took seventh in the man's hammer throw at 59.78m
Max Worley finished the men's 1500m at 4:00.07.
Morgan Graham earned marks of 45.55m in the women's hammer throw.
Katie Turk took fifth in the women's 1500m at 4:29.71. Emmi Simon finished the same event at 4:38.98.
In the women's 200m dash, Armanie Coleman ran a 24.14 and Victoria Teasley ran a 24.69.

25 Terps are among the programs all-time Top 10 on both men's and women's outdoor track teams.
Eric Albright currently holds the record for the 800 meters (1:48.26).
Isaiah Chapman ranks ninth in the men's 400m hurdles (51.64 seconds).
Roman Spikes ranks ninth in the men's 200m (21.22 seconds).
The foursome of Joshua Goffe, Mykel Morman, Tanner Leach, and Roman Spikes rank fifth in the men's 4x200 (1:26.05) and fifth in the men's 4x100 (40.30 seconds).
Aaron Abedin and Leach are a part of the eighth all-time best foursome in the 4x200 relay (1:26.58).
Albright, Justin Depinto, and Max Worley are three of the foursome that hold the fourth all-time record for the 4x800 relay (7:35.91)

Olympians In Paris

A trio of Terps competed this past summer in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Maryland celebrated as Thea LaFond won Gold in the triple jump becoming the first Track Terp to medal in the Olympic games. LaFond posted a mark of 15.02 meters (49-feet, 3.5 inches) - a new Dominica national record in the event. She was the 10th Gold medalist in Maryland history and the first Terp student-athlete to win Gold since Vicky Bullett in 1988.
With a throw of 77.92 meters, Maryland track and field assistant throws coach Rudy Winkler placed sixth in the hammer throw finals. The mark was his best effort at the Olympic games after he posted marks of 71.89 meters in 2016 (Rio) and 77.08 meters in 2021 (Tokyo). The sixth-place finish was also his best showing at the Olympics improving upon his previous high of seventh in Tokyo.
Chioma Onyekwere represented Nigeria in the discus after making her second Olympic games.
Additionally, assistant coach Danielle Siebert served as Women's Head Manager for Team USA – her second straight Olympic Games on the staff.
