Alyssa Klebasko Named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Junior Alyssa Klebasko was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week in an announcement by the conference on Monday. 
 
Klebasko, who receives her first conference honors this season, tied a career-high of six saves against Penn to help the Terps win 3-1. She only Allowed one goal in 120 minutes of action on the weekend, helping Maryland improve its all-time record at the Terrapin Invitational to 22-2.
 
The junior from Odenton, Maryland recorded her 13th career shutout against No. 13 Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
 
Last season, Alyssa appeared and started in 19 games, finishing with a .740 save percentage. She recorded her first shutout of the season in a win against Drexel (9/1), had a season and career-high six saves against Northwestern (9/27), recorded six wins against ranked opponents, and six wins against Big Ten opponents.

Klebasko and the Maryland field hockey team host No. 17 Penn State this weekend in College Park. The Terps are currently on a two-game win streak against the Nittany Lions and look to keep the streak alive on Friday at 5 p.m.
