COLLEGE PARK, MD -Â The Maryland Terrapins indoor track and field team returns to action for the first time in the new year at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 17, in State College, Pennsylvania. The meet begins at 10 a.m. at Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

A peek at the scheduLe
- Saturday's meet marks the first of three competitions for the Terrapins this month. Maryland will also compete at the Dr. Sander Scorcher in New York City on Jan. 23–24 before returning to University Park for the Penn State National Open on Jan. 30–31.
- The Terrapins will face some of the nation's top talent throughout the indoor season leading up to the Big Ten Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 27–28 in Indianapolis.

- Maya Valmon won the 200 meters in 23.92 seconds, moving to second on Maryland's all-time indoor list.
- Nyla Cherry placed first in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.73 meters.
- Ka'nai Bey, Taylor Riley, Maya Mosley and Valmon set a facility record in the 4x400 relay, finishing in 3:42.57.
- Ella O'Neall won her event with a throw of 14.09 meters.
- Taylor Riley captured the women's 500 meters in 1:15.29 in her first indoor race as a Terrapin.
- Armanie Coleman ran 7.45 seconds in the 60 meters, finishing 0.10 seconds off the venue record and 0.02 seconds shy of her Maryland record. She also placed second in the 200 meters (23.96).
- Eva Rogers finished second in the women's mile with a time of 4:59.50.
- Simone Cooper placed second in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.51 meters.
- Morgan Graham finished third in the women's weight throw at 17.15 meters.
Last time at the nittany lion challenge
- Armanie Coleman added to her school-record collection by claiming the 60-meter title.
- Maya Valmon placed fourth in the 300 meters with a time of 38.86 seconds.
- Lucy Scothern ran a personal-best 2:15.40 in the 800 meters, improving by four seconds.
- Reese Delp also recorded a personal best in the 800 meters (2:15.79).
- The quartet of Ka'nai Bey, Valmon, Kami Joi Hickson and Sam Payne closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay, clocking 3:40.05 the seventh-fastest time in program history.
Current terps in the Indoor record books
- Eight Terps are among the program's all-time top 10 on the women's indoor team.
- Armanie Coleman holds the program record for the 60-meter dash (7.43 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (23.69).
- Victoria Teasley ranks second in the 60 meters (7.45 seconds).
- Maya Valmon ranks ranks second all-time in the indoor 200 meters (23.92), fifth in the 300 meters (38.86), and eighth in the 400 meters (54.48).
- Rose Coats holds the program record for the 3,000 meters (9:18.23) and the 5,000 meters (15:54.62).
- Maya Mosley is part of the quartet including alums Katie Turk, Emma Pegg, and Emmi Simon who are tied for 10th all-time in the distance medley relay (11:45.76).
- The foursome of Ka'nai Bey, Valmon, alum Kami Joi Hickson, and alum Sam Payne hold the seventh fastest time in the 4x400 relay (3:40.05).
- Jennessa Wolfe ranks 10th in the high jump (5' 8.75").
- Tolu Akinduro ranks third in the triple jump (41' 10.75").
