BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Maryland wrestling team (4-5, 0-4 B1G) fell to No. 22 Indiana (6-2, 1-1 B1G), 26-12, on Sunday afternoon.
Despite the team loss, several Terps had strong performances. No. 16 Braxton Brown at 133 pounds opened the dual with a 4-0 decision over Jackson Blum, improving to 6-2 on the year in duals and 2-1 in Big Ten competition. No. 7 Carter Young remained undefeated in a Terps singlet, earning an 8-1 decision over Joey Buttler and moving to 4-0 in Big Ten duals.
At 197 pounds, No. 15 Branson John bounced back with a narrow 4-3 decision over No. 13 Gabe Sollars. Closing out the action for Maryland, Joey Schneck picked up his first Big Ten win of the season with a 7-3 decision over Caleb Marzolino.
The Terps return to action on Sunday, January 25, at home when they welcome No. 1 Penn State at noon.
