COLLEGE PARK, MDÂ -- No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse will travel to Hampstead, N.Y., to face Hofstra on Wednesday. The opening draw is set for 3 p.m. ET and will stream live on FloCollege.

Where We've Been
- Maryland enters its third road trip of the season with a 5-0 record. The Terps opened the year with three ranked wins over No. 13 Syracuse, No. 12 Virginia and No. 14 Princeton.
- Offensively, the Terps have been led by Kristen Shanahan and Lauren LaPointe, who have tallied 11 and 15 goals, respectively. Nine Terps have scored through five games, and four players have recorded 10 or more goals so far this season.
- Defensively, 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List member JJ Suriano has started strong in goal to open the year. The junior is 5-0 with 60 total saves, including 16 against ranked No. 13 Syracuse and 13 saves against No. 12 Virginia.
Maryland has started the season 3-0 on the road for the second time in the last three years.

- Kristen Shanahan has made an immediate impact in her first season with the Terps. Her four goals against Georgetown helped Maryland erase a four-goal deficit. In her first home game at Maryland, she recorded a career-high six assists. With three assists in the opening quarter, Shanahan posted the program's first three-assist quarter since Eloise Clevenger in 2024 and the first six-assist game since Clevenger accomplished the feat in that same contest. She added three goals and two assists in a 16-12 win over No. 14 Princeton, marking her 17th career multi-goal game, seventh career multi-assist game and 23rd career multi-point game.
- Keeley Block has also started her Maryland career strong, tallying three goals and one assist in her first home game as a Terp. The performance marked her 29th career multi-goal game and 37th career multi-point game. Block added four goals in the 16-12 win over No. 14 Princeton, including her 100th career goal.
- A Salisbury, Maryland native, Block joins the program after four seasons at Penn. Block earned 2025 Second Team All-Ivy and Second Team IWLCA All-Region honors after starting 19 games and recording 42 goals last season.Â
- Graduate transfer Kristen Shanahan joins the Terps after playing at Notre Dame. A team captain for the Irish in 2025, Shannahan started 14 games and finished second on the team with 27 goals and 41 points.
Keeley Block recorded her 100th career goal this past weekend against Princeton.Â

- Head Coach Cathy Reese is in her 20th season at the helm of Maryland women's lacrosse. The winningest coach in program history, Reese is 351-53Â (.869) as head coach and has led the Terps to five National Championships, 12 Final Fours, and 22 Conference Championships.
- Reese is the fifth all-time winningest active head coach and the sixth-winningest coach of all-time in Division 1 women's lacrosse at 381-82Â (.823). Former Maryland head coach Cindy Timchal is the all-time winningest women's lacrosse coach with 580 wins.
- Reese has the highest winning percentage of any current Maryland head coach as a Terrapin head coach.
