As a graduate student (2022): Finished fourth on team with 53 points (31G, 22A)...Transferred to Maryland for his final year of collegiate eligibility after not competing in 2021…drafted first overall by Panther City Lacrosse in the 2021 NLL draft ... Opened the season with two goals against High Point (2/5) ...Three goals and one assist totaling four points against Loyola (2/12)...Three goals and two assists to help defeat Syracuse (2/20)...Four goals in his victory against Princeton (2/26)...One assist adding another point in win over Notre Dame (2/5)...Three goals and two assists totaling five points in win over Albany (3/12)...Three goals on four shots to help defeat #2 Virginia (3/19)...One goal in a victory over Penn State (3/27)... Three goals and an assist totaling four points in win over Michigan (4/2)...One goal and four assists in win over #4 Rutgers (4/10)... As a junior at Cornell (2020): Named a second team Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Media All-American…Elected team captain during junior campaign…Started all five games on the Big Red’s first offensive midfield during shortened season due to COVID-19…Ranked second on the team in goals (13) and third in assists (7) and points (20)...Sat in the top-50 nationally in all of Division I in shot percentage (29th – 0.464) and points per game (47th – 4.00) at the conclusion of the season…Goals per game (2.60) and points per game (4.00) averages both ranked seventh in the Ivy League…Registered at least two goals in four out of Cornell’s five games, including a career-high five goals in the Big Red’s season-opening victory over UAlbany on Feb. 15…Dished out a season-high three assists against Towson on Feb. 21 and High Point on Feb. 23…Tallied at least two points in every contest, including five-point outings against UAlbany and High Point…Finished the year with five ground balls.
As a sophomore at Cornell (2019): Honorable Mention All-Ivy…Started all 15 games on the season…The Big Red's top scoring midfielder with 20 goals, 14 assists, and 34 points…Registered at least one point in all 15 games…Posted a career-high seven points vs. Albany to earn Ivy League Player of the Week honors…Had nine multi-point games on the season…Finished the year with 21 ground balls and caused two turnovers…In the summer following his sophomore campaign, was named the Minto Cup MVP after leading his Junior A Lacrosse team to a National Championship…Becomes only one of three student-athletes in Cornell men's lacrosse history to accomplish this feat.
As a freshman at Cornell (2018): The most productive offensive player of the freshman class…Played in all 18 games on the second offensive midfield…Finished the year ranked third on the team in assists (19) and fifth overall in goals (18) and points (35)...Named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week twice (April 9, April 16)...Had eight multi-point games…Posted a season high five points vs. Binghamton, Syracuse and Lehigh…Registered a season-high three goals vs. Dartmouth, Harvard and Lehigh…Handed out a season-high four assists vs. Binghamton…Ranked fourth on the team with four man-up goals…Picked up 20 ground balls on the season…Caused six turnovers.
Prep Career: Earned five combined varsity letters at St. Michael’s College School and Deerfield Academy…Two-time team captain at St. Michael’s….Led St. Michael’s back-to-back OFSAA Provincial Championships and was named team MVP both seasons…Won St. Michael's Marc Santi Award, given to the graduating athlete who displays leadership in sport…Won Deerfield’s Senior Award, given for determination to demonstrate how a senior can lead the way…Played three years for the Mimico Mountaineers in the OLA JR A Lacrosse League and was named Assistant Captain…Also played ice hockey.
Personal: Jonathan Hunter Donville is the son of Jason and Jane Donville and he has one brother and one sister…His older brother Brennan played lacrosse at Cornell, serving as team captain as a senior.
