Biography

As a Redshirt Senior (2019-20): Debuted as Maryland’s starter at 174 pounds at the Cavalier Duals, earning a victory over Southern Virginia’s Keaton Gomez (11/2)...wrestled at the American Round Robin (11/9)...beat George Mason’s Tony Lombardo (2/21)...appeared in the dual lineup vs. Rider for senior day (2/22)

As a Redshirt Junior (2018-19): Won six matches while serving as the primary starter for Maryland at 174 pounds...tied for a team-best two wins by major decision...advanced to the Midlands Championships Round of 12 following a pair of victories...upset a pair of seeded wrestlers at the Midlands Championship, including top-10 ranked Johnny Sebastian of Northwestern by decision (12/29)...picked up a win by fall in dual against Wisconsin (2/2)...won by major decision in conference dual against No. 3 Michigan (2/15)...won by decision in dual at George Mason (2/17)...closed out regular season with major decision over Rider's Dean Sherry (2/24)...wrestled for Maryland at 174 pounds in B1G Championships. 

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2017-18): Led team with three technical fall victories...tied for third-most B1G dual wins (2)...upset 13th-ranked Jordan Pagano of Rutgers in his first match of the season (11/4)...won via a 17-0 technical fall over Daniel Mika of George Mason (11/12)...posted a pair of wins at the Road Runner Open (11/19)...defeated Carlin Powell of Princeton via an 18-0 technical fall at the Midlands Championships (12/29)...beat Jacob Covaciu of Wisconsin, 16-1, at the Midlands Championships (12/29)...earned a 9-6 win over David Riojas of Illinois (1/28)...pinned Beau Breske of Nebraska at the B1G Championships (3/3). 

As a Redshirt Freshman (2016-2017): Won six matches between 165/174 pounds…wrestled for the Terps at 174 at Big Ten Championships…won first career dual match at Grapple at the Garden, defeating Columbia’s Tyrel White by decision (11/27)…earned four wins at Midlands Championships…earned an 18-1 technical fall victory over SDSU’s Kasey Klapprodt in opening round of Midlands (12/29)…picked up 8-0 major over Grand View’s Grant Henderson at Midlands (12/29)…pinned Northwestern’s Braxton Cody in 34 seconds (2/10). 

As a Freshman (2015-16): Completed solid redshirt season tied for fourth on the team with 16 wins at 165 and 174 pounds…went 16-8 overall in open tournament action, including seven bonus point wins…claimed Messiah Open title at 174 pounds (2/6)…won first collegiate match at Bearcat Open, pinning Rrok Ndokaj (Buffalo) (11/8)…notched major decision win over Anthony Bell (FLWC-Prep) (11/8)…took third at the Wolfpack Open, finishing 4-1 overall (11/22)…notched win over Kanon Dean (Harvard) at Franklin & Marshall Open (12/30)…placed fourth at Shorty Hitchcock Open, finishing 3-2 overall (1/16)…went unbeaten at Messiah Open to win bracket (2/6)…defeated Jordan Pagano (Rutgers) in first place match to win Messiah Open (2/6)…went 2-2 at National Collegiate Open (3/5). 

Before Maryland: A two-time state runner-up… a three-time state placer finishing sixth prior to his two runner-up finishes…finished second at the 2014 FloNationals…finished third in the 2014 Super 32 Challenge…finished third at the 2013 Cadet Freestyle Nationals and eighth in 2012.
