As a graduate student (2016): Named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-Big Ten First Team and NFHCA Third Team All-America honors...started in all 23 games...scored twice in her Maryland debut as the Terps won at Saint Joseph's, 6-2 (Aug. 26)...scored Maryland's only goal off a penalty stroke in the 3rd minute vs. #2 Syracuse (Sug. 28)...notched two goals in the Terps' 6-2 win over American (Sept. 11)...gave Maryland an insurance goal in the 60th minute in eventual 4-1 win over Indiana (Sept. 17)...scored the Terps' two goals, both off of penalty corners, in 2-1 victory at #13 Princeton (Sept. 20)...assisted on the Terps' game-tying goal and scored the go-ahead goal in 4-2 win at #15 Iowa (Sept. 23)...assisted on Maryland's second goal that tied the game in the 55th minute at #11 Northwestern (Sept. 25)...named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 27)...scored in Terps' 3-2 overtime win over #9 Michigan (Sept. 30)...added two assists in Terps' 2-1 overtime win at Ohio State (Oct. 14)...scored off a penalty stroke in Maryland 5-4 victory at #5 Penn State (Oct. 16)...scored Maryland's first goal in 2-1 victory over #1 Connecticut (Oct. 23)...added an assist in 4-2 win over Rutgers (Oct. 29)...scored Terps' first goal in 3-2 overtime victory over #12 Northwestern in Big Ten Semifinals (Nov. 4)...socred off penalty shot to force overtime in Maryland's 2-1 win over Massachusetts in NCAA First Round (Nov. 12).

Before Maryland: Started playing hockey at the age of 5 and joined the junior section of Canterbury Hockey Club, where she played ever since for all the age groups...she is a member of the Great Britain and England national squad for just over two years, training in a centralized program with the training focus towards the Olympic Games...represented England at the Junior World Cup in 2013, where the squad narrowly missed the bronze in a shootout...played first 1st XI team game for Canterbury in the Premier League at 14 years old and have played regularly since then... captained the premier league side for the past three seasons, where we have finished 1st, 2nd and 2nd during those three years in the Premier League, qualifying three times for the European Club Championships...earned her undergraduate degree in the UK in her hometown at Canterbury Christ Church University...she studied Sport and Exercise Science and Physical Education and graduated with a First Class honors degree.

Personal: Parents are Claire and Andrew Balsdon...has one younger brother, Jack, who represented England in hockey at the Under-21 level...looking forward to 2018 and competing for England in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the World Cup and the 2020 Olympic Games.
