As a Redshirt Freshman (2015): Appeared in six games…appeared in his first career game against Princeton and drove in a run (3/13)…notched his first career hit against Princeton (3/16)…appeared as a defensive replacement against George Washington (4/8), Purdue (4/26) and Indiana (5/2)…entered as a pinch hitter versus Purdue (4/24).
As a Freshman (2014): Missed the season due to injury…served a redshirt season.
At Dexter School: A three-year letterwinner in baseball and four-year letterwinner in football for Dexter … served as the team captain in baseball as senior and was named the team MVP after hitting .531 … named a Underclass Honorable Mention All-American by Perfect Game USA … was the starting catcher in 2011 for a team that went 23-0 and finished the season ranked in Baseball America’s National Top 50.
Personal: Son of Thomas and Christine Mazza … has two siblings, David and Lauren … was a four-year honor student at Dexter School … played hockey for three years in high school … chose Maryland because of the coaching staff and the strong academics … also recruited by Boston College, Harvard and Holy Cross.
