Maryland Men's Tennis Falls to No. 19 North Carolina, 7-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of Maryland men's tennis team fell to the University of North Carolina 7-0, Tuesday, at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The Terps fall to 5-7, 0-6 in the ACC, while the Tar Heels improve to 16-2, 2-0 in the league.
In an end result similar to Sunday's match up with Wake Forest, Maryland was swept in both doubles and singles. As he did Sunday, junior Ian Bliss (Plainview, N.Y.) jumped out to an early one set lead in his match in the No. 3 position. However Tar Heel Derek Porter rebounded, taking the next two sets 6-2, 6-1, for the win.
Scott Peters (Hopkinton, Mass.) took the first set in his match up with Andy Metzler in the No. 2 position. Metzler bounced back from being down a set, with his 6-3, 6-2, win over the Terp sophomore.
Maryland men return to their home courts, the Tennis Center at College Park, Saturday for a Noon match up with Mount St. Mary's.
